About Me

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

License #143952

Pronouns: She/Her

I am passionate about helping clients embody a life of meaning and purpose. I find great fulfillment in helping clients construct a life that aligns with their most deeply cherished values.

I specialize in helping clients process past relational trauma and support them in identifying, embodying, and expressing their emotional needs. I aim to help clients develop secure attachment skills so that they may enjoy more fulfilling relationships.

Raised by a Mazatleca mother and Oregonian father, I spent the first years of my life growing up in both San Diego, California, and Mazatlán, Sinaloa. I am fluent in English and Spanglish and aim to continually improve my Spanish-speaking skills. My bicultural life experience has aided me in working with a wide range of clients, including but not limited to immigrants, second-generation Americans, and transcultural clients.

I believe that the field of psychotherapy has a social responsibility to help liberate clients from all forms of oppression. As part of these efforts, I have specialized in helping women nurture more self-compassion, courage, and self-confidence as opposed to reinforcing women's social conditioning to people-please and seek external validation from those who wield power.

I received a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy and a M.A. in Applied Linguistics from San Diego State University. My theoretical approach draws upon Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I strongly believe in the importance of understanding clients’ intersecting identities (such as age, race, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual orientation, religion, neurodivergence, ability, SES, and trauma history) and how societal discourses of power and privilege are inextricably tied to many of the problems which clients seek to address in therapy.
